Air France A330 from Yaoundé to Paris declares emergency

An Air France flight from Yaounde, Cameroon to Paris has declared an emergency whilst approaching the destination.

Air France flight AF907, an Airbus A330 operating from Yaoundé Nsimalen International Airport (NSI) to Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) declared an emergency with squawk code 7700 whilst on descent into the French capital.

Having declared the emergency in the early stages of its approach over French airspace, the flight is now passing through FL120 (12,000 feet) as it continues its approach into CDG.

The nature of the emergency is not yet known, and the aircraft has maintained transponder squawk code 7700.

Flight data shows the Air France flight AF907 transmitted squawk code 7700 at approximately 05:55 UTC as it was on descent through FL340 (34,000 feet) in the early approach.

The flight had made a slightly delayed departure from Yaounde; showing an actual departure time of 00:16 local time against a scheduled departure time of 23:45 local.

The flight then proceeded normally until the emergency declaration in the early descent phase.

Flight AF907 now established on finals for RWY27 CDG. Weather for the flight’s arrival is Limited IFR with visibility 1.2 kilometres in partial fog and mist.

Flight AF907 now landed CDG. The aircraft conducting this morning’s service was an Airbus A330-200 registered F-GZCM; a 20-year old widebody aircraft belonging to the French national carrier.
