She pointed to recent studies showing a genetic mutation affecting insulin secretion and elevated prolactin levels linked to melatonin consumption.

Dr. Elliot concluded her response by reiterating that while melatonin might be acceptable under medical supervision and for a short duration, but it should not be considered a long-term solution. She also emphasized that her comments were general information and not medical advice.
