Cargojet, a leading Canadian cargo airline, has secured significant contract extensions with global logistics giants DHL and Amazon, reinforcing its pivotal role in the air freight industry.
The Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA), representing Cargojet’s pilots, warmly welcomed the announcement. ALPA highlighted the critical contributions of its skilled workforce in achieving these milestones.
The extended agreements will run until 2033 for DHL and 2029 for Amazon. They cover nearly half of Cargojet’s flight operations, underscoring the airline’s importance in the logistics supply chain.
Cargojet Pilots Acknowledged
Captain Adam Brochu, chair of the Cargojet Master Executive Council (MEC), praised the pilots’ expertise. He noted their exceptional performance ensures over 99 percent on-time deliveries.
“These contract renewals reflect the dedication and professionalism of our pilots, who consistently meet the high standards demanded by our clients,” Brochu said.
He also acknowledged management’s efforts in fostering sustainable partnerships with major clients like DHL and Amazon. Accounting for nearly half of operations, these are vital to the airline’s long-term success.
The agreements include options for further extensions, with DHL potentially continuing until 2037 and Amazon until 2031.
These long-term commitments provide Cargojet with a stable revenue stream, enabling the airline to plan for future growth.
Based in Mississauga, Ontario, Cargojet operates a fleet of Boeing 757 and 767 freighters, serving both domestic and international routes.
