DBD 2v8 mode queue times are still absurdly long despite 400% Bloodpoint bonus for survivors

Upon its release, Behaviour Interactive’s newly released 2v8 mode in DBD immediately became a hit with its massive fan base. There’s just one problem: queue times are still absurdly long because everyone wants to play as a killer. Of course, the developers have already attempted to fix this issue by offering a massive incentive in the form of a 400% Bloodpoint bonus for anyone playing as a survivor. Unfortunately, it hasn’t helped much because DBD 2v8 mode queue times are still as lengthy as ever.

Now, this trend shouldn’t come as a surprise since the main issue with killers in the classic 1v4 mode is that it’s often difficult to manage everything (chasing and hooking survivors, kicking gens) by yourself. But with a villainous partner, things become infinitely simpler since you have someone to help you out. Slugging, in particular, is much easier to execute, much to the chagrin of some players who have begun calling the 2v8 mode “unfun” and “extremely one-sided.”

Unsurprisingly, with DBD 2v8 mode queue times still taking as long as ever, some have begun sounding out their concerns on social media. Over on Reddit, user afterdarhkTTV even claimed that “they can watch [an] episode on One Piece in between each match.” For reference, a single One Piece episode lasts around 22 to 25 minutes, so that’s essentially how long you’ll be waiting to get into a match. Conversely, some, like user yogimiamiman, suggested upping the Bloodpoint bonus to incentivize players to queue up as survivors.

But even a significant bump in Bloodpoint earnings may not be enough to persuade players to choose survivors over killers since the latter’s playstyle, especially with a partner, is much more enjoyable. At this point, however unlikely, the 2v8 mode may need a survivor-sided balance update to help shorten queue times.
