ITA Airways Boosts its Connections Between Tokyo and Rome

ITA Airways has announced an expansion of its nonstop flights between Tokyo Haneda and Rome Fiumicino. The service expansion will cater to the increasing demand from customers.

With the addition of two more frequencies per week, the carrier is now offering a total of 7 weekly flights between these two capitals.

Tokyo-Rome: The Need for Expansion

The decision to enhance flight frequencies between Tokyo Haneda and Rome Fiumicino comes as a response to the remarkable success recorded on this route since its inception in late 2022.

The consistently high load factors experienced throughout 2023 underscore the strong demand for travel between Japan and Italy.

This strategic move aims to meet the growing needs of both business and leisure travelers, solidifying ITA Airways’ position in the competitive aviation market.

Improved Accessibility: Daily Flights

With the introduction of the additional frequencies, travelers now have access to daily flights, offering greater flexibility and convenience in planning their journeys.

This daily service caters to the diverse needs of passengers, whether they are traveling for business or leisure purposes.

ITA Airways has planned its summer schedule to optimize connectivity between Tokyo Haneda and Rome Fiumicino.

Departures from Tokyo are scheduled at 12:25 am local time, with arrivals in Rome Fiumicino at 8:10 pm local time.

Return flights from Rome Fiumicino depart at 2:55 pm local time. This arrives in Tokyo at 10:25 am local time the following day.

ITA Airways’ Global Ambitions

Beyond the Tokyo Haneda – Rome Fiumicino route, ITA Airways is embarking on an ambitious expansion plan, extending its reach to new destinations across North America, Africa, and the Middle East.

In the upcoming months, ITA Airways will launch direct flights from its Rome Fiumicino hub to several key destinations.

These include Chicago in April, followed by Toronto and Riyadh in May. June will see the introduction of nonstop flights to Accra and Kuwait City. Additional routes to Dakar will follow in July and then Jeddah in August.

Summer 2024

During the summer peak of 2024, ITA Airways will operate flights to a total of 57 destinations, encompassing domestic, international, and intercontinental routes.

In addition to its existing network, the airline will introduce 10 seasonal connections to popular Mediterranean destinations, enhancing connectivity for leisure travelers.
