Lufthansa Group announces changes in top management

The Lufthansa Group has announced a change of leadership in two key management positions.

Heike Birlenbach is to become Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) at SWISS from January 1, 2024. At the same time, Tamur Goudarzi Pour takes over Customer Experience for the Lufthansa Group. 

New Chief Commercial Officer at SWISS


Heike Birlenbach is set to take the reins as the new Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) at Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) effective January 1, 2024.

This seasoned aviation professional has been at the forefront of shaping customer experiences for the Group’s airlines since 2021.

With a wealth of experience, Heike’s journey began at Lufthansa in 1990, where she held various management positions in sales and product development across global hubs, including London, Amsterdam, Milan, Munich, and Frankfurt.

Heike Birlenbach’s appointment brings a fresh perspective to SWISS, given her prior role as CCO of Lufthansa Airlines.

Her dual role overseeing sales for hub airlines showcases her strategic prowess, making her a formidable force to drive commercial success for SWISS.

Lufthansa Group Customer Experience Head


Tamur Goudarzi Pour, the outgoing CCO of SWISS, is set to helm the Customer Experience division within the Lufthansa Group from January 1, 2024.

Simultaneously, he will lead a newly established taskforce with a mission to enhance operational stability, punctuality, customer service, communication, and baggage processes by 2024.

Tamur Goudarzi Pour, with his background as CCO of SWISS since 2019, brings a wealth of knowledge to his new role.

Having previously spearheaded sales in the Americas and the Middle East & Africa, his diverse experience positions him well to navigate the challenges of the evolving aviation landscape.

The synergy between Heike Birlenbach and Tamur Goudarzi Pour is poised to create a harmonious leadership dynamic within the Lufthansa Group.

As the reshuffle takes place, key executives express their gratitude and expectations. Christina Foerster, Member of the Executive Board at Lufthansa Group, commended Heike Birlenbach for her outstanding contributions during challenging times.
