Osaka’s most expensive apartment building went on sale on February 19, with 2,523 applications made on the 146 apartments offered for sale in the lottery. That included a 2.5 billion Yen penthouse on the 46th floor that received several applications. An average of 17 applications were made per apartment, with the most popular apartment receiving 95 applications.
The penthouse adorning the top of the building is 305 sqm in size with just two bedrooms. The interior is designed to resemble a mid-18th century European palace. Another apartment in the building has its own private car elevator that can bring the owner’s car right up to their apartment where it can be viewed from the glass-walled living room.
According to the sales staff, most of the buyers are residents in the Kansai region. While there were some foreign buyers, they were mostly living and working in the Kansai area themselves. The sales office said there was no indication of a rush of inbound foreign investor buyers in this building.
Grand Green Osaka The North Residence is a 172-meter tall high-rise residential tower with a total of 484 apartments ranging in size from 45 to 305 sqm (484 ~ 3,282 sq.ft), with pricing starting from 92.5 million Yen and an average price of 232 million Yen. Construction is scheduled for completion by late 2025 with apartments ready to move into by March 2026 onwards. It will be joined by several other high-rise towers as part of the Umekita 2 District Project, including another 185m tall condo, along with office and hotel buildings. The Waldorf Astoria Osaka is one of the luxury hotels to open in one of the commercial towers.
The second round of sales is scheduled to start in late May with 90 apartments on offer.
